Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s Day – November 16, 2024

The Seventh-day Adventist Church will be observing Sabbath November 16 as World Orphans / Vulnerable Children’s Sabbath. Thanks to a partnership with the General Conference Children’s Ministries Department, https://children.adventist.org/, here are some resources to help your local church to promote and observe this special day. Sermon: “Defend the Fatherless: Vindicate, Judge, and Govern” (Isaiah 1:17) This sermon was written by Stepan “Steve” Avakov, PhD, who is the Director of the Adoption Support Center, www.asc-russia.ru, a non-profit organization (NPO) based in Rostov-on-Don, Russia. This organization supports the spiritual mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church but is an independent supporting ministry not controlled by or legally affiliated with the Church. Dr. Avakov serves as volunteer co-chair for the Adventist Possibility Ministries Taskforce for Orphans and Vulnerable Children. Here are resources for your local church to download!
