Did you know that the week of September 23-29 is International Deaf Awareness week? It may shock you that there are about 70 million deaf people in the world and only 2% of them are Christian! It’s a huge mission field! The Deaf must be reached for Jesus. Many of the Deaf use sign language and there are about 400 different sign languages in the world! We need to work together in reaching the Deaf and you can be a part of it. “How,” you may ask? By prayer. By learning sign language. By understanding Deaf Culture. By getting involved with the Deaf Community. You can make a difference in a Deaf person’s life!” – Pastor Jeff Jordan, Associate for Deaf Ministries (Adventist Deaf Ministries International)
